Scientific Intelligence for Fishing Today

How It Works

S.I.F.T. is a fishing intelligence platform that combines real-time data from multiple sources to help anglers make informed decisions about when and where to fish. Our system analyzes river conditions, weather patterns, and seasonal factors to generate accurate fishing forecasts and tactical recommendations.

Data Sources

USGS River Data

Real-time water temperature, flow rates, and gauge heights from the U.S. Geological Survey's network of monitoring stations.

Open-Meteo Weather API

Current and forecasted weather conditions including temperature, precipitation, cloud cover, and barometric pressure.

Our Algorithms

S.I.F.T. uses a series of proprietary algorithms to analyze the collected data:

  • Fishing Score Calculator: Assigns an overall fishing quality score from 1-10 based on multiple factors.
  • Tactical Recommendations: Determines the effectiveness of different fishing methods (dry fly, nymphing, streamers).
  • Prime Time Predictor: Identifies the optimal fishing windows for each day based on conditions.
  • Hatch Analysis: Predicts active insect hatches and provides matching fly pattern recommendations.
  • Weather Interpreter: Translates complex weather data into fishing-relevant insights.

Developed by a Local Angler

S.I.F.T. was created by Adly Elewa, a local and frequent angler who was tired of arriving at the river only to find poor conditions. My goal is to help you spend more time catching fish and less time guessing when to go fishing. I continuously refine the algorithms based on real-world fishing reports and my own experiences on these waters.
